Superior Smelting Mod [2025 Update] – Smelting That Finally Makes Sense

Vanilla furnaces have always felt like a one-way trade: burn gear, get barely anything back. Most of the time, I wouldn’t even bother. But with Superior Smelting, that equation flips.

Now when I toss in worn-out armor or tools, I know I’ll at least get something useful in return a guaranteed ingot, not just a token nugget. It feels like the furnace finally respects the effort I put into crafting that gear in the first place.

But the changes don’t stop there.

Smarter Furnace, Better Payback

This mod reworks the smelting logic so that it’s more rewarding and practical. You can now:

Smelt damaged gear and always recover at least one ingot
Turn raw ore blocks directly into metal blocks, skipping steps
Enjoy a more purposeful furnace experience, especially in late-game survival

It’s not flashy, but it’s one of those quality-of-life upgrades that just makes sense. Especially if you’re the kind of player who hoards old gear instead of tossing it into lava.
