The Minecraft 1.21.9 Snapshot 25w32a is a focused pre-release update that brings several new copper-based blocks, a text component system upgrade, and over 50 bug fixes and rendering improvements. This snapshot is part of the ongoing development for Minecraft 1.21.9 and introduces exciting decorative elements such as Copper Torch, Copper Lantern, and Copper Chain, all of which oxidize over time just like Copper Blocks.
Alongside the new blocks, Mojang has introduced a copper_fire_flame particle, new block/item tags, and an “object” type text component that allows sprites (such as item icons) to be rendered directly in UI elements perfect for resource pack creators and UI modders. Snapshot 25w32a is also packed with technical tweaks and small enhancements to entities, loot tables, and shelf interactions.

New Blocks:
- Copper Bars
Decorative bar blocks that oxidize through 4 color stages: unaffected, exposed, weathered, and oxidized. Great for fences or cell-like builds. - Copper Chain
A copper version of the regular chain, ideal for hanging items such as lanterns, bells, or signs. Also changes color over time. - Copper Lantern
Emits a green light, similar to Soul Lanterns but with a copper glow. Can be placed on surfaces or hung from blocks. Also oxidizes. - Copper Torch
Green-glowing torch with light level 15, fully oxidizable. Functions as both lighting and decoration.
Visual & Particle Effects:
- New particle:
copper_fire_flame
Used by Copper Torch and Lantern, gives a unique copper-colored flame effect.
