The Friends and Foes Mod (1.21.8, 1.20.1) breathes new life into Minecraft by introducing a diverse set of mobs that were once scrapped, forgotten, or voted out during past Minecraft mob votes. From the adorable Moobloom to the dangerous Illusioner, this mod reintroduces passive, neutral, and hostile entities in a way that feels completely natural within the vanilla ecosystem. With added features, behaviors, and new village structures, it doesn’t just bring back old concepts it enhances them with depth and polish, making your world feel more alive and varied than ever before.

• Copper Golem
  A quirky, neutral mob known for randomly pressing copper buttons. Copper Golems are created using any waxed or unwaxed copper block, a carved pumpkin or jack o’lantern, and a lightning rod. Upon death, they drop 1–3 copper ingots. These golems roam the world and spin their heads for fun. If they detect nearby copper buttons, they’ll walk over and press them, introducing randomness to your redstone builds.
• Oxidation Mechanics
  Unwaxed Copper Golems undergo four oxidation stages, gradually slowing down until they become a frozen statue. Players can reverse oxidation with lightning strikes or an axe, and prevent it entirely using honeycomb to wax them. Healing them with copper ingots restores 5 health points.
• Glare
  A small flying mob found in Lush Caves. Glares are afraid of the dark and avoid monsters, floating like bees. They’re drawn to glow berry vines, shake the berries loose, and eat them. Glares can be tamed by feeding them glow berries (33% chance). A tamed Glare warns players of nearby dark areas where hostile mobs can spawn. Like cats or wolves, they follow the player and teleport when far away.
• Moobloom
  A cheerful cow variant covered in buttercup flowers, naturally spawning in Flower Forests and Meadows. Mooblooms plant random flowers as they walk 40% buttercup, 40% dandelion, and 20% sunflower. They behave similarly to Mooshrooms and cows, and can be bred with wheat. Bees are attracted to the flowers on their backs and will pollinate them. Mooblooms can be milked or sheared to revert them into regular cows (dropping 5 buttercups).

Foes:

• Mauler (Great Hunger)
  Neutral mobs found in Savannas, Badlands, and Deserts. They spawn on natural terrain like grass, coarse dirt, red sand, or sand. The more XP they store, the larger they appear. Maulers hunt small mobs like chickens, rabbits, frogs, and baby zombies. If provoked, they become hostile. Sometimes, they burrow underground to ambush prey.
• Illusioner
  A powerful spell-casting illager that only spawns in Illusioner Shack structures or during raids (in harder difficulties). Armed with a bow, it uses two unique spells: one for blinding the player and another to summon illusions while turning itself invisible. When damaged, it teleports, becomes invisible for 3 seconds, and creates 8 decoy illusions that attack just like it. The illusions disappear after taking one hit or when the Illusioner dies.

Blocks and Items:

• Buttercup
  A yellow flower dropped when Mooblooms are sheared. Can be crafted into yellow dye or used in suspicious stew. Although not yet naturally spawning, it is planned to generate in Flower Forests and Meadows in future updates.
• Copper Button
  A redstone component activated when pressed by entities, especially by Copper Golems. Its signal duration varies based on the oxidation level.
• Beekeeper
  Adds a new villager profession along with a custom Beekeeper House structure. This feature is fully functional and generates naturally in villages.
