Energetic Sheep Mod (1.21.8, 1.20.1) introduces a quirky yet functional addition to your Minecraft world: sheep that generate energy. Rather than relying solely on traditional generators or complex machinery setups, this mod lets you farm power directly from a new mob the Energetic Sheep. These glowing, charge-infused sheep passively produce Forge Energy (FE), making them an excellent option for early- to mid-game tech-based playthroughs.

You can shear them to collect Energetic Wool, a power-infused block that stores and transfers energy. This offers a light-hearted but surprisingly useful way to incorporate livestock into your tech automation systems, whether you’re playing on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, or Quilt mod loaders.

You have two ways to obtain Energetic Sheep: either wait for lightning to strike a normal sheep, transforming it, or explore the world to find naturally spawning Energetic Sheep. These special mobs are rarer than their vanilla counterparts. Once found, they can be bred like regular sheep, and their offspring have a 33% chance of inheriting the energetic trait.

When an Energetic Sheep is killed, it drops Energetic Wool a unique material that delivers a shock when placed as a block, so handle it with caution.

Energetic Wool stores energy within itself, making it a functional power source rather than just a decorative block.

This means you can use Energetic Wool to power your favorite machines either by right-clicking directly on them or inserting the wool into any machine that accepts Forge Energy from items.

Rather than killing these rare sheep, a smarter approach is to shear them instead, allowing you to collect even more Energetic Wool without harming them.

Once you’ve gathered enough Energetic Wool, you can craft a pair of special Energetic Shears.

These Energetic Shears are capable of storing energy and enable you to extract the full energy capacity from an Energetic Sheep. This method is significantly more efficient than simply shearing for wool, allowing for greater energy yield in a single use.

Rather than shearing sheep by hand, you can automate the process using other mods that support Forge Energy extraction from entities like Integrated Tunnels. This allows you to draw energy directly from Energetic Sheep without manual interaction.

Energetic Sheep essentially function as living energy buffers, making them useful as mobile energy storage units that can transport power wherever you need it.
