ChocoCraft Mod (1.21.8, 1.20.1) brings the beloved Chocobo creatures from the Final Fantasy universe into Minecraft, transforming your world with colorful, ridable birds each with their own traits, abilities, and personalities. With 9 unique Chocobo variants, a breeding system, custom items, and even Nether-exclusive flying mounts, this mod is a perfect blend of creature collecting, exploration, and fantasy. Compatible with Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge, it’s a fan-favorite addition to many adventure and RPG-themed modpacks.

Features:

Chocobo Variants and Abilities

Chocobos are passive mobs found in the wild or bred for special colors and abilities. They must be tamed with Gysahl Greens and can be ridden and equipped once saddled.

• Yellow Chocobo: The only naturally spawning type in the Overworld. No special abilities.
• Green Chocobo: Can climb 2-block-high walls. Breed Yellow + Yellow.
• Blue Chocobo: Moves fast on water and grants water breathing. Breed Yellow + Yellow.
• White Chocobo: Combines climbing and swimming, faster than Green/Blue. Breed Green + Blue.
• Black Chocobo: Can climb, swim, jump higher, and grant night vision. Breed White + Yellow.
• Gold Chocobo: Climbs, flies, swims, immune to fall damage, and tied as the fastest. Breed White + Black using Golden Gysahl only.
• Red & Pink Chocobos: Same as Gold Chocobos, but with red or pink coloring. Created by feeding a Gold Chocobo a Red or Pink Gysahl, respectively.
• Purple Chocobo: Only found in the Nether or End, they can fly, walk on lava, don’t take fall damage, and are immune to fire. They lay eggs instead of breeding traditionally.

Gysahl Greens & Farming

Gysahl Greens are the core crop of the mod, used for taming, breeding, healing, and crafting:

• Found in the wild or grown from Gysahl Seeds (crafted from wild greens).
• Loverly Gysahl (20% mutation chance) – used for basic breeding.
• Golden Gysahl (50% mutation chance) – required for Gold Chocobo breeding.
• Red/Pink Gysahl – convert Gold Chocobos into Red or Pink variants.
• Gysahl Cake – instantly matures a baby Chicobo.
• Gysahl Pickles – edible by players for small hunger restoration.

Taming & Breeding Mechanics

• Feed wild Chocobos Gysahl Greens to tame them. You’ll see a red or blue collar once tamed.
• Tamed Chocobos can be bred using Loverly or Golden Gysahl.
• Special mutations require specific breeding pairs and items (e.g., White + Black + Golden Gysahl = Gold Chocobo).
• Purple Chocobos are not breedable you must find them in the Nether, and they lay eggs instead.

Items and Equipment

• Chocobo Saddle – Required to ride a tamed Chocobo.
• Saddle Bags & Pack Bags – Add storage to your Chocobo (inventories currently disabled).
• Chocobo Whistle – (Planned) Will summon the last ridden Chocobo.
• Chocopedia – Displays Chocobo health, name, and breeding status. Allows naming and interaction.
• Chocobo Feathers – Dropped occasionally by tamed Chocobos, used in recipes.
• Straw – Decorative block for Chocobo pens.
• Chocobo Leg (Raw & Cooked) – Food item, heals more than chicken or pork (optional combat loot).
• Purple Chocobo Egg – Laid by Purple Chocobos for reproduction.
